WHAT’S GOING ON? FEBRUARY Full Moon Light

The Full Moon of February always has a peculiar light. It’s as if the earth is longing for the Sun, and in her hunger she rejoices in seeing the lunar glow of a moonlight night. This lunation arrives in opposition to a noble companion; Mercury traveled into the rays of the Sun today. At the same time, Venus graced the last degree of one of her favorite signs, Pisces.
So, as Mercury, the planet of logic and reason headed into the transformative realm of Solar Logos, Venus reminds us that what is old and outworn must be discarded to make way for the new. The Sabian Symbol message for the Mercury/Sun conjunction is particularly rich; ‘A Forest Fire Finally Quenched.” This message speaks to coming out of a time of destruction. I spent much of the day burning old papers. Documents that I thought must have surely been released long ago, somehow surfaced today. And now they are gone.
Late this evening, Saturn also moves into retrograde motion, making this is a perfect time to renegotiate outworn agreements while limiting your access to new ones. Think of Saturn as the planet that helps us create a structure to our lives; while retrograde, his message is ‘make good on your existing promises and commitments – don’t take on something entirely new.’ Saturn is retrograde until June 25th, just after the Summer Solstice of June 20th. Use this time between now and the first day of summer to build a strong foundation for future growth and expansion.
